Weather in the North Georgia Mountains
What each season looks like up here, and where to check the forecast before you drive up.
Mountain weather does its own thing, and it is not always doing the same thing at the cabin as it is in town. Here is what to expect through the year.

Spring
The rivers and lakes come back for play, and the apple blossoms are out in early May.
Summer
Long days on the water. Most cabins have a hot tub, and the Blue Hole out on the Tanasi Trail is a cold, clear swim when it gets hot.
Fall
The big one. Color runs from October to mid-November, and the trails that pass our waterfalls are at their best.
Winter
Fireplaces are in season October 1 through March 31, with firewood provided for the indoor fireplace. It is also ladybug season in the mountains.
A Few Things the Forecast Won't Tell You
Some of our cabins have steep driveways or gravel, so we caution against cars with exceptionally low ground clearance, and against motorcycles. Our housekeeping contractors and office staff get around in everyday cars, a Honda Accord and a Kia mini-van, so most vehicles do just fine.
Cell service is another one. It is sporadic in the mountains. Verizon is great at most properties, others do better on AT&T, and the most remote cabins have none at all. Every cabin has a land line for our office, area businesses, and emergencies.
